Does Color Zap damage your hair?
Here is a picture of what my hair looked like after I used colorzap. This Product is less damaging than using bleach so it’s a better alternative to removing hair color that is bright or a dark color. This product will dry your hair out so you will need to use adeep conditioning treatment for a couple weeks.
How long do you leave color zap in your hair?
How I used it:
- Mixed the full bottle of the activator with the powder.
- Ap…
- Put on a plastic processing cap, I sprayed the inside of the cap with water to keep the product moist.
- Left it on for the maximum amount of time, which is an hour.
- Rinsed with lukewarm water, and shampooed + conditioned my hair.
Can I dye my hair after color Zap?
Any shade applied to the hair will be darker than you would like. Therefore, for best results, we recommend waiting at least 48 hours before re-dyeing. However, if you don’t want to wait, choose two shades lighter color than you would like.

Color Zap beats Color Oops if you are planning to re-color. Otherwise, Color Oops does seem to be more gentle to the hair than Color Zap, but be prepared for the hair to re-darken a bit.
Is Loreal Color Zap a bleach?
My big take away is that this is ultimately a weak bleach product that doesn’t really work. So it smells and behaves just like bleach, but doesn’t work as well. If you want hair color removed from your hair, just use bleach instead, not this.

It faded it really unevenly with some areas still pink and some basically white. In retrospect, I regret not going to a salon. I would’ve paid a little more but probably had better results. 3.0 out of 5 stars It works more or less but it STINKS and very little product in the box.

This product completely removed dye and was able to re-dye immediately. Don’t be alarmed with the color of your hair after stripping. Does not return to normal hair color but does what it is supposed to do.
