Does OptumRx have a deductible?
OptumRx calculates deductible and catastrophic cap balances based upon daily information provided by VHA OCC. It usually takes 8-10 days for a claim to be reflected in those balances. If VHA OCC determines that you have overpaid your co-payment, they will refund the overpayment.

How does a prescription copay card work?
Once enrolled in the copay program, the patient will receive a card from the manufacturer. When the patient shows the card to the pharmacist, the pharmacy processes the prescription using the patient’s insurance information as the primary payer and the copay card information as the secondary payer.
Can I use OptumRx with Medicare?
Medicare must approve the PERS Platinum Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Plan, administered by OptumRx, each year. You can continue to get Medicare coverage as a member of our plan as we choose to continue to offer the plan and Medicare renews its approval of the plan.
